From the moment you walk into this establishment, you are treated with a true omotenashi experience! I highly reccomend making a reservation here to experience amazing food and the calming atmosphere by the river. Eating each piece of food was like enjoying art, delicious and beautiful.

My wife and I craved for sukiyaki (1st-time in Japan 😅) as we got to Hakone Yumoto this evening under the rainy windy weather, and this place surely gave us a surprise with excellent service and great quality food! Had a great time interacting with the server (wish we got her name but was too shy to ask) and we were so full with great food inside when we left! Will surely come again if we visit Hakone again in the future!
Wonderful restaurant with picturesque setting overlooking a stream. With extra 1000Yen you can sit outdoors, which is very nice. The food is great, today we had beef from Kumamoto. We also tried their beef sashimi but I'd prefer half-cooked beef TBH. Waitresses are dressed in traditional kimonos to serve you and they are pleasant and nice.

Each glass ware is carefully selected to match the dish, the meat melts in your mouth and the view is like from Heaven.
A bit pricey but you get the value for what you pay. A totally unique experience.

We had a great experience here. Didn’t have reservations but the kind hostess was able to accommodate us with an half an hour wait (no issues as they were fully booked and limited staff). We were seated outside next to the river with heated table blankets and even a padded jacket if needed. The food was pre fix with sukiyaki black Japanese beef as the main course. It was brought over in a case iron bowl and placed on a wooden holder. The food was very tasty and not overly sweet. Totally enjoyed the over experience
